Sapiens has implemented an SAP-based accounting and tax reporting system in Lenta hypermarkets

Moscow, 2017. The Russian IT business Sapiens completed the project of building a standard solution for satisfying the requirements of Chapter 25 of the Tax Code and RAS 18/02 on the SAP BW on HANA platform for the largest retail chain "Lenta."

With 195 sites in 78 cities, the Lenta hypermarket chain is Russia's largest retail facility. Due to the ever-increasing volumes of data in the retail chain, the process of producing tax returns must be automated. "We chose to implement a Sapiens tax accounting system owing to the high complexity of data collection and the limited capabilities of the previous reporting tool," stated Anastasia Cheredilova, Lenta IT Service's Head of Finance."Thanks to the in-depth examination of documentation, transparency of aggregated data, and automation of the process, we now have the ability to quickly submit tax returns with low chance of errors."
All of the criteria of Chapter 25 of the Tax Code and RAS 18/02 were met during the project, including the creation of tax registers, income tax declarations, distinct division computations, and the development of XML files for electronic document management. A versatile analytical OLAP reporting system has also been developed. The key element of the project is the transfer of settings, computations, and tax reporting from the ERP system to the new platform, which has a number of functional limitations.
"Our standard solution, which is based on the standard tax accounting approach, talent, and extensive project experience, has allowed us to reduce the risks and costs of implementation. We've also provided the Lenta accounting department with a robust tool for tax reporting", - Sapiens' CEO, Yuri Efarov, remarked. - According to Dmitry Krasyukov, Deputy General Director of SAP CIS, "the solution allows you to generate reliable, operational consolidated reports, reduce the risks of errors in the preparation of tax reports, and reduce the time to collect data on the documentation requested by regulatory authorities." - Furthermore, a flexible and powerful method for creating data warehouses allows you to mix the full range of required data from diverse sources, such as the General Ledger, ERP modules, and so on."
